Welcome to Troop 29

Leading the way...

What does that mean?

Think about being a Cub Scout.  You went to den meetings and did a lot of different and fun things.  But who decided what to do and who planned the activities?  The Den Leaders, right?

Sports teams are a lot of fun, too.  But who decides who plays what position, who's on the starting lineup, and when to substitute?  The coach, right?

There is one thing that makes Scouting different from all other youth groups.  Do you know what it is?

Well, it is not the uniform.  Every soccer, basketball, and baseball team has a uniform.

It is not the fun activities.  There are a lot of other fun things.

And it certainly isn't cleaning dirty pots and pans on a campout!!

What makes Scouting special is that YOU make the decisions!

Troop 29 History

In 1924, Troop 29 was first chartered in Alta, Dutch Flat, and Gold Run areas under Scoutmaster Raymond Graham. From 1942 to 1949, the Troop was disbanded.

During 1949, Troop 29 became active in Rocklin and was sponsored by the Rocklin PTA.

In 1950s, the Rocklin Lions Club assumed sponsorship and has remained as the Troop's benefactor.

The Troop met at the Finnish Temperance Hall from 1962 to 1994.

Troop 29 began meeting at the Rocklin Community Center - Springview Hall in September 1994 to 2020. At the request of the City of Rocklin, we moved to the Parks and Recreation Building, where we meet now.

Troop 29 has produced more than 100 Eagle Scouts.
